Hospital software rarely makes the news until it breaks, and the people who keep electronic health records running are the specialists Katmick Systems was set up to supply. Cora Hermoso founded the consultancy, which gives its address as 157 North Spruce Avenue in South San Francisco, at the north end of San Mateo County. By her own account on the company site, she has spent more than fifteen years in healthcare IT, and Katmick began as an independent practice offering application and analytics support.

What the company offers

The core of the site is electronic health record (EHR) analyst consulting, the behind-the-scenes work of supporting clinical applications and the reports that hospital and clinic teams depend on. Alongside that, the site lists two smaller lines that have little to do with software: Katmick records video of cultural and community events, and it describes itself as a direct dealer for 7K Metals, a seller of precious-metal coins.

The owner also writes that full-time work has pushed the business to the side for now, so capacity for new projects may be limited.
